Margaret A. Hampson Recognized for Excellence in Mineralogy
Margaret A. Hampson enjoyed a fruitful career as a successful mineralogist
AMSTERDAM, NY, July 28, 2009 /Natural Resources PR News/ -- Margaret A. Hampson Retired Mineralogist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in mineralogy.
As a mineralogist, Margaret A. Hampson's primary responsibility consisted of finding minerals throughout the world.
Prior to becoming a mineralogist, Ms. Hampson taught grade school for five years, worked with the United States Department of Defense in Defense Mapping Agency and worked on cartography for local government agencies to find detailed information for the Library of Congress. She is best known for her ability to find minerals, and her discoveries have led to profits for individuals, hospitals and communities through mining. She also worked with a government-accredited company at Liberty Enterprises that employs the mentally disabled. She attributes her success to her fortitude and determination.
Ms. Hampson received her Bachelor of Science in General Science Education from the State University of New York College at Oneonta and her Bachelor of Science in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1983. She is a member of the alumni associations of the State University of New York College at Oneonta Alumni Association and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ms. Hampson hopes to use her talents to locate oil for a private company or individuals.
